Fitness Training for Badminton

If you're a badminton player and you're looking for a personal trainer who will give you that edge in your matches, choose one who is familiar with the demands of badminton. Like all racket sports, you'll need aerobic endurance, muscular strength in shoulders and legs and core (the vital link between your upper and lower body), and speed & agility.

Unlike other racket sports, badminton demands a lot of overhead smashes, so your fitness regime must ensure that your shoulder muscles are strong and flexible, particularly the stabilising muscles of the rotator cuff.
